A new Christopher Moore book sounds great to me. The library finally came through and I'm loving LAMB.

I like the idea of a Christ who studied many different faiths to learn to be the Messiah. I'll let you know my final thoughts when I finish.

New Book

Hey guys, so I thought that I would stay with Christopher Moore since I heard that several people like him, plus Adam seemed to like the other book. I thought that we could start with his first book -- Practical Demonkeeping, it looks interesting. Let me know if this is ok and then we can decide on when to start! I hope everyone is doing GREAT!! love

libraries in dallas are shady ... or maybe it's just oak cliff. anyway, i'm still looking for the book. and we're all slackers. what happened to our biblestudy thing, too?!!

ps we're not really slackers. we're busy people. i realize this. i didn't mean to call anyone a slacker. that was a joke.

pps i miss all of you guys!!

Glad to hear that you liked it Adam. I'm currently waiting for the book to be returned to the library, butI'm becoming very impatient. I'm going to check it out online today.

Hey guys. I finished the book several days ago; not because I'm a crazy fast reader but because I cheated and started sometime near the end of August.

I really liked the book...laughed out loud many times...and am anxious to see how everyone else liked the book.

Some of the ideas put forth in the book are widely agreed as factual by many historians...obviously not all of them (some are blatantly made up - Moore writes this in his afterward) but some of the ideas. I would be interested in discussing these as well.

I hope everyone else is enjoying the read!

thanks!! oh yeah, and i want to be claudia from the BSC. valerie should be dawn, since she lives in California now. (?!!)

And for those of you who didn't read the Baby Sitters Club books with the same fervor as I did (and apparently Adam as well), or catch the amazing movie with the girl from She's All That (ps there was sarcasm in that last remark -- the books were great, the movie wasn't...) here's who's still up for grabs:

Kristy -- the president and creator
MaryAnne -- the quiet, shy club secretary
Logan -- her(MA's) boyfriend and only male babysitter
Mallory -- the young'un w/ red hair and a crapload of siblings
Jessi -- the other young'un and ballarina
Dawn -- the surfer girl from CA (if valerie doesn't claim her)
Shannon -- the pretty rich girl from Kristy's stepdad's neighboorhood who Kristy at first thought was a snob, but then became really good friend's with
Abby -- the girl w/ the twin the let in the club just as the series was ending cuz I think Dawn moved back to CA permanently

yes, i realize this is sad. but i had fun remembering!! (and you all really don't have to pick one -- this was mostly a joke!!)

I think I remember correctly that the first book is:

Lamb: The Gospel According to Biff, Christ's Childhood Pal

If this is right we start in September I believe. Yes, I think that is right. September.
